What is Bic® Label Assistant?
It is a new program for creating and printing Bic® labels.

How does it work?
The program has 1 initial screen and 3 operation screens:
- On the first screen, the user decides if he wants to create new work or open previously saved work, then he chooses the product line he wishes to work on.
- On the next screen, the user selects the preferred label model within the product line he chose.
- And on the last screen, the user creates, edits, saves and prints his labels.

What are the assets?
- Simple operations with a single program for creating and printing all Bic® label models: A4, A5 and CD labels;
- Allows sheet print view with the labels drawing;
- Platform independent, only requires an Internet browser;
- Works on Windows, Macintosh and Linux.

Installation

What are the computer requirements for installation?
The minimum working requirements are:

- Computer:
Pentium III 500 MHz, 256MB RAM, 150MB HD

- Software:
Operational system:
Windows 98, 98SE, Me, NT4, 2000, XP, Vista
Linux
MacOS X 10.2 or higher

- Internet browser:
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
Mozzila Firefox 2.0 or higher
Important: Internet connection is not necessary to use the soft ware.

- Printer:
Inkjet or laser printer

How to install the program?
Please follow the instructions below:
- Download the program from link;
- Execute the program and wait for the installation to start;
- On the first screen, choose the installation screen language, then click on “OK”;
Click on “Next”;
- On the next screen, choose the folder where the program will be installed. The hard disk should have 150MB available;
- Click on “Install”;
- At the end of installation, click on “Done”.

Updates

How do I know which is the latest version of the software?
Bic® Label Assistant link will always contain the latest program version.

How will the updates work?
The updates will be provided on the website, in the downloading section, as they are made available.

How to…

Create a new label?
Follow the steps below:
- Execute Bic® Label Assistant software;
- Click on “Click here to start”;
- Click on the preferred product line in the “Create new work” column;
- Select the preferred model and click on the right arrow to proceed.

On the editor screen, you can:
- Write directly in the edit area;
- Clear all the contents by clicking on the symbol;
- Maximize or revert the editor back to normal, by clicking on the symbol;
- Use text boxes to position on the label;
- Insert images;
- Position images with the help of the mouse, by clicking on the image and then click on ;
- Apply the data on the whole label sheet or in the preferred positions.

Create and print a direct mail
Follow the steps below:
- Execute Bic® Label Assistant software;
- Click on “Click here to start”;
- Click on “Direct Mail” in the “Create new work” column;
- Select the preferred model, then click on the right arrow to proceed;
- Click on the symbol to import data from an Excel worksheet. The worksheet should have the format shown in the example ?


- In order to apply the fields to the text, select the desired field then click on ;
- Click on the button “3. Apply” to apply the data to the sheets.

Insert an image into a label
Follow the steps below:
- First click on the button;
- Click on “Browse”, then select the preferred image. The program supports RGB standard JPEG, BMP and GIF images;
- Click on “Choose”;
- Click on the symbol to position it;
- If you wish, click on the button to move the image to the top or the button to move it to the bottom.

Working with CD labels
- Follow the same steps as question 1 and choose one of the CD layouts;
- Then create your work with text boxes and images.

Creating different labels in the same sheet
Following the sequence indicated in the operation screen:
- Create your label;
- Click on “2. Position” and select the label position on which you wish to apply your work. If you wish to apply it to more than one position, use the Ctrl key, then click on the chosen positions;
- In order to apply to the chosen positions, click on the button;
- Repeat the 3 previous steps until the whole sheet is filled.

Configure printer
In printer properties, select the right paper size, A4 or A5, according to the label sheet that will be printed.
